About the Artists:
The Guerrilla Girls are anonymous artist activists who use disruptive headlines, visuals and statistics to expose racism, sexism and corruption in art, film, politics and pop culture. We create political art that uses the persuasive strategies of advertising, shows people something they didn’t know before, and has the power to change their minds. We believe in an intersectional feminism that fights for human rights for all people and all genders. We undermine the idea of a mainstream narrative by revealing the understory, the overlooked, and the unfair. We have done hundreds of street posters, banners, billboards, actions, books, and videos all over the world. We also do exhibitions and interventions inside art museums, blasting them on their own walls for their discriminatory practices. For a complete chronology of our work and exhibitions see our website: https://www.guerrillagirls.com/ The Guerrilla Girls’ motto: Do one thing. If it works, do another. If it doesn’t, keep chipping away. Creative complaining works!
