In this work, David de la Mano creates a scene full of symbolism and dynamism, where a child figure rides at full speed on a wolf, carrying a flag that seems to flutter in the wind. The action takes place on a solid green circle, created with spray paint, which functions as a small floating island in an undefined space. The circle does not act as a frame, but as a symbolic terrain. Its green filling, irregular and splashed by spray paint, gives the impression that the island is suspended in the void, floating in an ethereal environment. This visual effect reinforces the feeling of isolation and precariousness, turning the island into a microcosm that represents its own, autonomous world. On this minimal and apparently unstable surface, the girl and the wolf emerge as protagonists in an act of defiance and movement. The girl, a symbol of courage and innocence, seems to control the wild force of the wolf, which represents instinct, freedom and connection with nature. The flag he carries adds an additional dimension of meaning, evoking ideas of identity, resistance or aspiration. The choice of black monochrome for the figures accentuates the contrast with the intensity of the green, highlighting them as dynamic shadows charged with symbolism. The spray paint not only suggests the floating nature of the island, but lends a sense of energy and fluidity, as if this small island were alive, constantly changing or moving. This work encapsulates David de la Mano’s ability to combine symbolic narratives with a minimalist aesthetic. The scene invites the viewer to reflect on themes such as the fragility of shelter, the coexistence between the human and the wild, and the act of moving forward even on unstable ground. It is a piece that, although visually simple, is imbued with a conceptual complexity that makes it a true object of contemplation.
