Growing up as the son of two dancers, the relationship between fluidity and tension has been an ever present element in his art. For John, making art is a process of connection, realization and awakening. He explores ideas of existence, time, space, struggle and serenity through his chosen mediums of painting, drawing, mixed media, assemblage, and installation. Reclaimed and found materials factor strongly into his works, as they contain so many stories.
